Information and Guarantee
I reserve the right to decline any sharpening request.
I will endeavor to reach the degree of sharpness that you ask for, but I require that my clients release me from any and all legal claims resulting from their use or misuse of the blade(s) in question. If the edge on the blade is not to the client’s satisfaction, I will gladly refund their fee or resharpen the blade to their satisfaction as I choose.
Some blades will not reach anything akin to razor sharp due to factors that can include blade geometry*, metallurgical composition and Rockwell hardness. In the case of blade geometry being the offending party, some basic reworking of the edge angle is possible during the sharpening process for no added fee, on my discretion.
I will not fully regrind a knife because it isn’t economically reasonable to do so. By the time a client has paid me to do such a thing, they will have spent equal to or greater than what a new knife with the edge profile that they’re looking for would cost.
I don’t do long swords or repolish Samurai swords.
Cash only.
*The most common inhibiting factor is usually blade geometry, meaning that the original edge was ground that way because of the manufacturer’s determination of the knife’s working purpose.
